Rear Dashcam for JAECOO J7 & OMODA C9: What to Check Before Installation
Considering a rear dashcam for JAECOO J7 or OMODA C9? The AKEEYO AKY-P1 can be considered as an independent rear-facing recorder, subject to a check of the vehicle's mounting space and power arrangement. It records separately and does not connect to or synchronise with the vehicle's factory recorder. Confirm the exact vehicle year, trim and installation plan before arranging the work.

What the AKY-P1 adds
The AKY-P1 is a compact Full HD 1080P recorder with a 120° wide-angle lens and WDR. It connects to the AKEEYO app over WiFi for playback and settings. It can be used as a separate camera facing the rear, alongside an existing front recorder.
Because it records independently, it uses its own microSD card and does not create a combined front-and-rear recording system with the vehicle's original equipment. The AKY-P1 is not a 4K recorder and does not support parking monitoring.
Rear dashcam for JAECOO J7 and OMODA C9: fitment checks
A model name alone is not enough to confirm fitment. Before scheduling installation, check:
the vehicle's model year and exact trim;
whether a factory recorder is already installed and how it is positioned;
where a rear-facing camera could be mounted without obstructing the driver's view;
whether the cable can be routed safely and which power arrangement is suitable;
whether the installation could interfere with vehicle sensors, airbags or existing wiring.
Follow the vehicle manual and have the installer assess the actual cabin and mounting points. A product photo cannot confirm fitment for every JAECOO J7 or OMODA C9 configuration.

Rear-facing view and storage
The AKY-P1 supports left-right mirrored viewing in the AKEEYO app preview and in saved Full HD recordings. Use a U3 or higher-rated microSD card that meets the model's supported capacity and compatibility requirements. The package includes a 3-metre USB Type-C cable.
The camera remains a separate recorder. It will not control the factory screen, sync clips with an OEM system or provide parking monitoring.
How to check suitability in Malaysia
When asking about installation, share the vehicle year and trim, whether a factory recorder is present, and where you want the AKY-P1 positioned. AKEEYO Malaysia can check the mounting and power arrangement before confirming the installation plan.
Installation can be arranged directly or through a partner shop, subject to location and vehicle suitability.
See the AKEEYO AKY-P1 product page and Car Dashcam page for product and support information.
